Mitigation Site Monitoring
ASGECI
has performed construction oversight and post-construction monitoring of wetland mitigation projects to ensure compliance with state and Federal regulations and
to promote planting success. ASGECI's expert staff oversees and inspects excavation activities, topsoil placement, plant health, planting operations and
soil erosion and sediment control measures to ensure the project is implemented correctly. Our staff can apply adaptive management to address any unforeseen subsurface
conditions or approve replacement species due to availability of nursery stock.
The length of post-construction monitoring is determined by the
regulatory agency that approved the project and is typically for five years. Post construction vegetation,
hydrology and soil sampling is performed at a wetland mitigation site to assess compliance with permit conditions, identify invasive species, identify herbivory problems, and
assess survival and health of plant species during the warranty period. Monitoring reports are prepared at the end of each growing season and submitted to the regulatory
agency overseeing the project.
ASGECI has prepared numerous construction and post construction monitoring reports as well as as-built plans using GPS for multiple wetland mitigation sites. Our reports
have been accepted by New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and US Army Corps of Engineers.
